Another MIlestone Made

184.8 the basement digital scale read this morning....I frankly cannot remember the last time I was below 185 pounds on this 5' 11' frame...some time back in the early 1990s I suspect...back before I began weight lifting with a purpose...although I cannot really remember why I choose to "pump iron" at the age of 45. That worked, got me stronger, helped my back pain and problems...but it also increased my weight into the 225 pound range by the late 90s, something that when I slowed off the weights some 10 to 12 years later, has been hard to take off and keep off.

No longer it seems, the weight has been coming off at a slow and not so predictable rate since last Labor Day, when my pre-Diabetes 2 was diagnosed....I lost the first 15 pounds within 6 weeks, the last 10 have taken about 6 months, slow and steady, and now I am within site of my original goal of 180 pounds. The sugar was done at last doctor visit 2 months ago, and the Blood Pressure has been in the grove at between 116-125/over 60-65, with a pulse rate around 61-64 beats per minute. I have no desire to eat large amounts of fried foods, sweets, or breads/pizza etc. I partake those on occasion these days, but not to excess...beer drinking however, is still a vice/pleasure...especially these coming summer months. Beer it seems does not effect my weight, as long as I can use those calories as a trade out for indulging in fatty foods.
