More Global Warming! Skating to Columbus.

AS YOU CAN SEE, I POSTED TODAY'S DAILY RANT ON MY BACK PAIN/BP BLOG....go figure, not really sure how to transport the entire thing...so this is staying here and the link goes to my regular blog:

Much of the nation is in a deep freeze, including the "below the frost line" area of Florida....bye-bye Citrus Crop, hello high OJ and Grapefruit prices....Global Warming my Ass!

While many stooges in the public schools continue to follow the Obama/Al Gore line and preach the lies of Man Made Climate Change...the rest of us face reality on a daily basis...there is no Global Warming, and any "Climate Change" sure the Hell isn't warming things up.

Yesterday I drove to Columbus, taking Sam back for the start of Winter Quarter at Ohio State....instead of the Jeep, we took the warmth and relative comfort of the Dodge....once on US 33 in the 2 lane stretch between Wapakoneta and Indian Lake, I realized, that the inch or so of snow we were getting was the kind that sticks to the road in 10 degree temperatures, and turns untreated highways into skating rinks...I slowed down accordingly.

As we hit the 4 lane outside of Bellefontaine, it was apparent that most of the knuckleheads, especially those in 4 wheel drive vehicles, had no clue. 2 accidents, and at least a dozen cars, including at least 3 Jeeps were either in the medium, or into the evergreen trees that line much of the highway between Mad River Mountain Ski Area and Columbus....Sam and I made it to his place at University Village without any hassles.

After dropping Sam off, I headed back the same route...things had improved somewhat, but it was still not "good to go".

Getting home, I had a couple of hours to kill before heading to the double header, Junior High games at Lima Perry....when I left Celina, the 4 lane heading to I-75 wasn't bad, but once I got on 75 it was obvious that things were not improved on the north-south Interstate. There was a 3 car pile up at the Wapak interchange...and once I got off and hit the back roads to Perry Schools things were pretty slick.

Once I got done with the games....I headed south and west and things did not improve on 75 or the Wapak to St. Marys stretch of 33. I made it safe and sound, without problems, to Celina and St. Johns Church, where I joined the team in completing the 3 game series with first half South Champions Hopewell....after losing the first game 5-3, we bounced back and won 6-1, as I placed myself in the bottom of the order, we fell behind 7-1 early in game 3 and went down by a final of 7-5. So we start out the second half of the season at 1-2...I only batted 6 times and went 3 for 6 to raise my average to .432 on the season thus far.

This morning, after stopping at the bank and running some other errands...I drove the icy West Bank Road along Grand Lake...the ice laden fog had rolled across the lake and I snapped a few photos across the water.

Tonight, if the weather doesn't get worse, I head north to Antwerp for a boys Junior High double dip....tomorrow back to Columbus, pick up Sam, head to Dayton so he can pick up his "new" Toyota...and maybe, just maybe, I can start on things that I need to get done before winter ends. And maybe I can get back to actually working on stuff that may be somewhat "interesting" on this blog....In the meantime, busy it is, and I'll continue to muddle through...

Hey I did move up in the standings on ESPN's Bowl Mania Bash...with the Boise State win in the Fiesta Bowl last night, I now stand in 164th place out of some 273,000 players....

Photos-The Frozen Oranges of Central Florida will become a common site, thanks to the latest round of "Global Warming".....as you can see by the Map, this are not really heating up...and it has gotten much colder since this mid December overlook. And this morning, a couple of frosty, foggy, shots of the West Bank area of Grand Lake.

Holding my own through the Holidays

As I stepped on the scale this morning...it said 191.2 pounds. Which means from our annual Thanksgiving trip to Wisconsin(actually 2 weeks before the real Thanksgiving) until this morning, the Sunday after the final Christmas Holiday, I actually manage to lose just a little under a pound. Now that wouldn't be a big deal, but since I had lost 16 or so pounds in my battle to stave off Diabetes 2....I am happy to have held my own. Now I can go back to the 2000 calorie/225 carb a day diet....about 10 or 12 pounds to go to reach my goal...which was to get down to the 180 range by March 1st. It appears we are good to go.

Back is in pretty good shape, about 1/3 of the way through Basketball season, and the Blood Pressure is down from the 150/80 range to 125/70. I am pleased for now...will update as the winter progresses.
